It’s amazing to realise that i’ve been living in London for over a year now. Time has really flown by for me, and i won’t be surprised to find myself returning home within a blink of an eye.
Looking back, I have been fortunate to meet plenty of good people who have become wonderful friends, and travel to places I’ve always dreamt about. Some of the year highlights include:-
- undertaking the 3 Peaks Challenge in wet & windy conditions
- taking part in Welsh Winter Walking course at Plas y Brenin
- taster trip to Amsterdam with Pel
- eating & drinking ourselves silly in Porto & Lisbon with Hema
- enjoying festival high at Glastonbury
- exciting outdoor summer hols in Croatia
- driving tour around Cornwall with Julia
Now that work commitments are out of the way, it’s time now to embark on another long journey to savour the final bits of summer weather. Getting pretty excited now as more plans are laid down for my Eastern Europe whirlwind trip.
A month’s adventure kickstarting from Amsterdam to Munich for Oktoberfest. Then it’s off to Vienna to catch Coldplay in concert before soaking up culture in Budapest. Next come the active leg with some trekking trips in Slovakia. After all the hardwork, it’s back to more food, culture & architecture as we cruise through Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Final point is Copenhagen to meet a friend and drink ourselves silly with free beer before returning to London again.
Funnily when i started planning the month trip, it seemed quite long to be on the road. Now, armed with knowledge of so many wonderful places to visit, it’s getting harder to pick & choose the travel route. If only time & money is not a factor, I can spend my lifetime travelling round Europe & the world.
What’s next…….Trans-Siberian / Mongolian train ride back to M’sia?
